The Mid century modern home design styles has always dominated ever since its rise to popularity some time back. First referenced as early as the mid 1950's, this design movement, characterized by clean lines and gentle curves really gained attention much later on, around the 80's. Almost 4 decades on, it is still going strong and seen widely across all residential and commercial properties.

I was wondering what is the next in design. While mid-century modern doesn't sow any signs of going anywhere, there are other design trends and styles are coming into spotlight.

Scandinavian design will continue to be a popular design movement and will really experience some long term longevity. The elements of Scandinavian design are on the rise. We will see a lot of dark floor and walls and everyone will want the bleached out oak look and white walls.

As more and more people are loving in small spaces, this décor trend will keep things feeling white, fresh and bright. It will also be an amazing backdrop for any other elements you may want introduce in the space.
