Froufrou by Color Elation Cosmetics Review

Spring is just around the corner

And I can't help but love Froufrou by Color Elation Cosmetics. It just spells out spring! The colors are bright and sweet, makes you think of cherry blossoms, lilacs, roses and orchids. But since I live in the tropics, it quickly reminded me of bougainvilleas.
Each eye shadow in the collection is so pigmented, you can use them individually. Combined together, its easy to create a look that is sure to stand out.

Froufrou, as with all other sets of mineral eyeshadow from Color Elation Cosmetics, comes in a really cute packaging and packed carefully to reach you safely.

The name of the colors are indicated at the bottom of each plastic jar. I just love it when eye shadow colors are named.
Froufrou is composed of four colors: Indigo Black,  Amethystm, Rasperry Jam and Mocha

Indigo Black is describe as a rich navy.Amethyst is a royal purple shimmer.Rasperry Jam is a vivid hot pink.Mocha is a pink champagne

As you can see, the colors are very pigmented even without primer, especially indigo black. Amethyst is a shimmery purple but with a primer, it becomes a deep violet. While raspberry jam looks the same, mocha shows more of its brown undertone with a primer
What I love about these is that despite the fact they have a bit of sheen, the colors stay strong even under harsh lighting. Most shimmery eye shadows don't fare well under direct sunlight as their colors are drowned by the amount of light the shimmers reflect. It isn't so with the eye shadows in the Froufrou collection.
If you don't have an eye shadow primer, you can use them damp to intensify the color.

Each eye shadow is soft and fine, not chalky and powdery. Despite the fact that Color Elation is still a baby company, you can tell that their eye shadows are of high quality.

Using a liner sealer from ELF, I made indigo black into an eyeliner.

With or without primer, the eye shadows lasts the whole day! With the line sealer, the line I created with black indigo is almost waterproof and smudge proof!
I just wish there's some sort of filtering mechanism in the plastic jars to keep the eyes shadows from spilling off. I'm one clumsy girl and I know I'm not the only one! But then again most loose eye shadow brands package their eye shadows this way too. Plus, Color Elation Cosmetics is relatively a young company. They must have focused on improving the quality of their product rather than the packaging.
I'm cooking up a way to make these eye shadows more portable though. Will share it to this blog soon enough.*wink wink*  Watch out for it!

Froufrou by Color Elation Cosmetics is perfect for that spring, avant garde look.
