We hear so often of how important it is to get our children out & about and being as active as possible during the summer holidays, and of course as parents we want to make sure we're doing everything we can to encourage them in this.
But sometimes it can get a little difficult to motivate them and pull them away from those ipads and TV screens.
Kids get bored very quickly and suggesting the same things they do every week isn't likely to get them raring to go....
So if you've overdone the walks to the park, climbing frames, trampolines, bicycle rides and swimming sessions...maybe it's time to try thinking outside the box.
Roller Skating Fun ways to get kids active this summer!
I was a child of the 80s, so I remember when roller skating was all the rage. I had a traditional pair and a pair of the oh-so-cool Inline skates...I was never particularly good at skating but I had so much fun trying! This could be a great way to get kids moving and having fun on the hot summer days, even just skating around the garden or local park. If you can't convince them to try out full on roller skating, a pair of Heely's could be the way forward! Scooter Rides Fun ways to get kids active this summer! A little more fun and unusual than the everyday bike ride, scooter rides can be a great way to get kids out of the house.
Scooter's tend to be much easier to learn how to ride than bicycles too, so if you're child isn't too confident with cycling it could certainly be worth investing in a scooter.
BMX Biking Fun ways to get kids active this summer! If your child is a keen bike rider but is a little bored of the standard bicycle ride, perhaps a little encouragement with BMX-ing and bicycle tricks would help them learn to love it?
Skateboarding Fun ways to get kids active this summer! And finally, the good old fashioned skateboard!
Skate board riding has never really gone out of fashion, and once you've showed your child the beauty of a well executed kick flip and introduced them to the local skateboarding park I doubt there'll be any looking back!
If any of these ideas interest you, you can purchase everything from roller skates, heelys, skateboards and everything in between from one store ... www.skatehut.co.uk
