There are some things in my life without which I wouldn’t be happy at all and one of those is: HUMOUR. Ever since I opened my eyes, I’ve been surrounded by people who had that air of jolliness around them. My father, aunts and uncles, my cousins- all of them are full of life and laughter is a necessity among us all. When we all gather, that is almost every sunday at my Grand Ma’s, the air is flooded with whoops of joy, useless jokes, making fun of each other and what not. This is the paternal side of my family.
My mother is a sober person with a good sense of humor but she doesnot like to joke around much and she even gets annoyed at me when I, due to my inherited ability to goof around, donot stop. When my mother gets depressed and my Dad, brother, sister and I fail to drag her out of that state, there’s always a solution! Going over to a party given by one of my aunts or uncles, the whole family together, and my mother feels right as rain!
There are some of our family members who are particularly funny. One of them is my father. If you come over to my place, you’ll find a very light atmosphere with funny comments by my Dad being passed around and us laughing together. But yes, my father does get serious if we start wasting too much of our time chit chatting with him and Mom and has to send us away to our rooms to make us study.
There are two of my aunts who are HILARIOUS! It’s always great fun to be around them! We just start talking and the next minute we are rolling on the floor, clutching our sides, aching with laughter.
All of these people and the fun they carry with them is very important to me. I just can’t live without it. First, because they’re my family. Secondly, there’s so much love when we all get together that no luxury of the world can be exchanged with it. And third, because we all need some humor to lighten our burdens.
