My ink-smudging, elbow-bumping, scissor-challenged southpaws, today is your day. It's Left Hander's Day!
As a part-time leftie (softball and golf), I in no way feel your pain. In fact, sports are one of the few spaces where left handedness is seen as an advantage.
But I would argue it gives you the upper hand in other ways, too.
You live in a world that isn't made for you in so many ways. Can openers, corkscrews, basically dinner parties are hell. But you soldier through with your head held high and your elbow at the ready, reminding the world that you're here.
My point is that these are a million things that us right-handers take fore granted everyday. Left handers do everything we do, but counterintuitively. You figure it out. You adapt.
Basically, ten percent of the population is superheroes.
To paraphrase another lefthander - you're on the right (or left) track, baby; you were born this way and you're awesome.
Okay, that's all I have for you, rockstars. Get out there and keep rocking. Be brave and be kind.
