Game of Thrones (T.V. Shows You Should Watch)

Next up in T.V. shows you should watch is a personal favourite of mine and a show I'm sure everybody watches already, although there still may be people out there who don't it and it needs bringing to their attention. I am of course talking about the mighty 'Game of Thrones'. What is there not love about this show, great writing, great acting, brilliantly shot, something for the men and the women with a gaggle of attractive actors, nudity, action, drama and not to forget....dragons! (well when they've finally grown)

  • Series Name: Game of Thrones
  • No. of Seasons: 3
  • Creators: David Benioff, D. B. Weiss
  • Original Network: HBO

Based on the 'Song of Ice and Fire' book series written by George R R. Martin, Game of Thrones tells many inter weaving stories from the view point of a huge cast of characters. Set in the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, it deals with three main story arcs, The first follows the members of several noble houses in a civil war for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, the second covers the rising threat of the impending winter and the mythical creatures of the North, the third chronicles the attempts of the exiled last scion of the realm's deposed dynasty to reclaim the throne.

Through morally ambiguous characters, the series explores the issues of social hierarchy, religion, loyalty, corruption, sexuality, civil war, crime, and punishment. Whats not to like.

Game of Thrones (T.V. Shows You Should Watch)

Its impossible not to be drawn to the characters when watching this majestic, sprawling epic of a series (and no its nothing like Lord of the Rings before you ask) you'll find yourself picking sides in the civil war for the Iron Thrones, you'll become attached to characters only to see them killed of with no remorse from the writers, you become engrossed in Jon Snow's fight to protect the wall from the Wildlings and White Walkers and you'll be rooting for Daenerys to succeed if for nothing else than to see what happens when her dragons are finally unleashed. There's so much going on and more and if your thinking, what the hell is he talking about, I don't know any of this, watch it, watch it now and get up to speed for when season 4 starts. You won't be disappointed.
