To be fair, you could get that sultry 60s cat-eye look with any eyeliner but Alexa Chung, the IT girl and style guru famous for her feline inspired make-up has perfected the eyeliner pen with indie make-up brand Eyeko. The preview sets sold out immediately, (as tends to be the case with anything to do with Alexa. Even Mulberry named a bag after her. The creamy pink…divine) however, the official launch will be at Selfridges London on Thursday November 14th when you can turn up from 6.30pm and have your pic taken with Alexa (if you buy the eyeliner and mascara kit that is…)
Now, I wouldn’t mind getting a hold of one of those eyeliner and mascara sets (which also includes an illustrated poster for how-to achieve the “Alexa look”.) I have always used eyeliner. My lashes are very thin and quite blond, leaving me with no eye definition whatsoever and completely looking “washed out”. I have experimented with liquid eyeliners (too harsh, a lot to do with the applicators, too thin and fidgety) and my current Lancôme eyeliner smudges quite easily. Alexa’s Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner is like a felt tip pen, which I would assume would create a lot of control and ease of use and she promises it to be rain and cry proof.
