…get in the Zone

Texting while you’re driving is reckless, dangerous, and stupid.  This should not be news to anyone, especially readers of this blog, as it’s been a recurring topic for 2WC.

It is a topic that, tragically, bears repeating, and now there’s another development in the battle against stupid driving decisions—text blocking.

For a mere $179 (sounds better than $180 right?) you can install a device in your car to block texting and data (emailing and driving also dangerous).

It’s being touted as a great way to stop your teen from texting while driving or, for company cars, to stop your employees from texting while driving.

Personally it seems like a ridiculous step to take when you could simply not text while your driving, but if you’re going to make the investment I have one suggestion: Tell the victim of your lack of faith that you’re doing this.

Why? I  imagine that the only way to make texting while driving more dangerous would be to block service to the drivers phone and not let them know.  Searching for a signal while attempting to text while attempting to drive will not end well.

Alas, the obvious solution of saving the nearly $200 and using some common sense seems to be unreasonable at this point in our technological evolution.  So, be safe.
