…get It Write

As we all settle into our jingle bells and one-horse open sleighs…or turkeys and pilgrims for those who insist on celebrating the holidays in order, we find ourselves at the start of another important month of the year.

Today marks the second day of National Novel Writing Month. You may recognize it better as its hashtag — #NaNoWriMo. As you can see, it’s compact because nothing matters more to writers than character(s).

It’s been said, in a variety of ways, by a variety of people, that we all have a novel in us, and this month is the time to let it out. To paraphrase Chef Gusteau of “Ratatouille” — “Anyone can cook write.”

Of course, as Remy (and Anton Ego, of course) learns, that doesn’t mean everyone can be a great cook writer, but anyone can.

So, if you’ve always felt you have a novel or two in you (you might want to have that checked out by a physician), there’s no time like the present. So this month put pen to paper, or characters to Twitter, and write that great novel.

…bi-daily smile…
