Getting Festive With Moonpig
A few weeks ago, I was invited to take part in what can only be described as something incredibly on brand for 2020 - a virtual Christmas event!
Throughout the months leading up to Christmas, bloggers are often invited to Christmas showcase events by various brands so that they can take a look at products on offer and share them with readers. The events always sound like great fun but as they're always held in London, I never manage to get to them as it's just a bit too far to travel for an evening out.
But due to the pandemic, this year Moonpig decided to host their Christmas blogger event via good old Zoom...which meant I could finally take part!
I'll admit it was rather a surreal experience, sitting on my bed eating nibbles accompanied by 30+ other people on the screen - but it was actually a lot of fun!
Moonpig had gone to the trouble of laying on some great interactive entertainment for us...which I'll talk more about in a moment!
Firstly I wanted to share with you some of the things I discovered about the new Moonpig app and what it's capable of.
If you're used to shopping with Moonpig for personalised cards then you already know that they can relied upon for huge variety and choice as well as fantastic quality, but the Moonpig app really does it make it easier than ever to navigate the website and make your customised purchases.
Not only can you upload a photograph of your hand written message to be printed inside your card in your own handwriting - meaning you can even include drawings from the little ones, but it also allows you to view your creations in 3d too.
With so many of us likely to find it difficult to be together in person this Christmas, Moonpigs services are making it easier than ever to send a personalised touch.
As well as cards Moonpig also offer a wide range of gifts and flowers...which brings me to the first online workshop we tried!
Roxanne from Moonpig walked us through a full flower arranging class during our zoom session. It was my first ever go at flower arranging and I have to admit, it wasn't really something I thought I'd enjoy much but to my surprise I loved it!
I found the whole experience so relaxing, and I loved our Christmas center piece creation so much that I fully intend to recreate it for Christmas day.
Our final experience of the evening was a cocktail making class with the very funny Conor from Mix & Twist - we created three cocktails during the session, my favorite being the Vodka Garden.
If you fancy trying it out yourself (and I highly recommend that you do!) then here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
45ml Belvedere Vodka (Available from Moonpig)25ml lime juice25ml sugar syrup6-8 mint leaves25ml elderflower soda1inch Cucumber slice
Method:
Put cucumber into glass and crush until soft and mushy.
Fill glass with ice and add in mint leaves. Stir to mix.
Add lime juice, sugar syrup and vodka to cocktail shaker and shake.
Pour into glass, stir to mix and top of with elderflower soda. Delicious!
All in all I had such a fun evening with Moonpig, and was so impressed by the workshops and the quality of the products I got to see and try.
If you're looking for something special to let loved ones know you're thinking of them, I highly recommend taking a browse through the Moonpig app.

*Disclosure - I was gifted the items needed for the workshops during this Zoom event, but have not been paid for taking part or writing this post.
