Getting My Organization On.

Getting My Organization On.
Pretty much anyone who knows me knows that I'm kind of an organizational freak. And by "kind of" I mean I'm definitely an organizational freak.
My books are organized alphabetically by author, and chronologically by publication date within each author. My entire planner is color coded. My closet is organized first by kind of clothing (dresses, skirts, shirts, etc.) and within those categories it is organized chronologically by season and alphabetically by color. I know. I know.
When will the madness stop?!
I like to think that one day whoever I marry will appreciate the fact that I'm hyper organized. It might drive him up the wall on some days. But mark my words, there will be a day when he will be so thankful that I'm ridiculously OCD when it comes to organization.
The month of January was a pretty chill one as far as things to do. I pretty much had work and little else. So it was easy to keep track of it all. But then Easter rehearsals started and things went cra-cra-crazyyyyyy.
When I originally plotted out the month of February, before the month had even started, I only have nine nights where there wasn't something already going on (and most of those were work days where my night might be free but my day certainly wasn't). I took one look at the ridiculousness of my schedule and said, "Oh boy. I need a planner."
I love my planner. I had this amazing one that I got from Barnes & Noble that I used for the last half of 2010 and all through 2011. It was amazing. It was both monthly and weekly, but unlike a lot of weekly planners, the days were divided vertically instead of horizontally so there was a specific line for each half hour increment from 7am until 7pm. It was beautiful. The thing I hated about the horizontal planners was that I always ran out of space because there was so much stuff going on each day.
Alas, a couple of weeks ago when I went to Barnes & Noble to find this same wonderful planner...it was not there. Nor could I find it online. And so I had to settle for a horizontal planner. But I suppose it will have to do for now.
I started into my hyper organized mode again. I put together my budget for February and even printed out my budget planning sheet for March and filled out some of the categories that are the same each month (like rent and my phone bill). I also did some planning for this here wonderful blog. Thanks to the lovely Kate, I found this awesome blogging planner via Pinterest. And so, today, as it was a rather slow day at work, I sat down and planned out many of my posts for the month of February. Hopefully this will help keep me on track and posting more than just the updates in The Saga of Office Boy. :)
The final step to completely my organizational overhaul, was to get a planner. As I said, I couldn't find the awesome Barnes & Noble one again, but I am satisfied with the planner I found. And I know it will help keep me from going insane with all the craziness of the next couple of months.
So do I have any other hyper-organized people out there? What's your favorite way to keep track of the craziness of life?
