Yes, that’s right it’s International Cat Day!
To those of you wondering what cats have to do with world class athletes, that’s a good question, but you’ve obviously never seen a cat when they’re in the mood to actually do something.
They may seem like professional loungers/sunspot finders, but they have an average leap length (that’s up, down, or vertical) of about 5 feet. Which based on their size, is a distance that athletes can only dream of.
They can also reach a speed up to 30 mph, which is faster than any human on record.
They also don’t need to blink, so while staring contest is not an Olympic event, if it was they would totally win.
Of course, at the end of the day, they’re still adorable, which is why we really love them…and why they deserve their own international day of recognition. Happy International Cat Day to all my fellow cat lovers!
