Goals for 2013 & Review

Posted on the 07 January 2013 by Gandbblog @GandBblog
The past year has been one for the books.
So many wonderful things happened and I am really looking forward to this new year as well. I welcomed a new niece  this year, which has honestly been a highlight for me. I love her more than life itself and it has really made me think about my future family. I have really had to face my own fears of motherhood, but I think its important to face things like this. Hubs and I have been married for over two years and at first I thought my career would be my baby, but I feel my heart changing. I think in a lot of ways I am a mother {as an aunt}. I think I have that mother gene that I had thought I had lacked before. We will see where this leads. Heck, I may change my mind tomorrow. More on that at a later time.
I am proudest of graduating with my Master's degree. It was definitely a highlight this year. I think I couldn't have been less motivated my last eight weeks, but man, I got through it and with a good GPA, if I say so myself. My hubs was proud of me, my family, and my co-workers. It felt good to have so much support. I am still debating a PhD, but for now, I am content with my education.
The move took over a lot of my brain and blog this year. Alabama is not what I expected thus far, but the opportunities we have been given have far exceeded my expectations. I only hope and pray for more as time goes on. I am also in the midst of decorating our new place. Low and slow is the best because you get to collect things over time. Things we plan on keeping after we buy a house someday. We have gotten some pictures for our gallery wall, a coffee bar, and some decor for each room. I have been adding a little at a time, but overall I see it coming together. An update coming soon.
For 2013, I have some BIG plans. I have some goals that I know will finally allow me to be the person I want to be and live the life I have been wanting to live for quite some time.
  • Health plan is underway. Today, healthy eating has commenced and I am going to incorporate 30 minutes of rigorous activity a day. I will start with some brisk walking and move up from there. I am not active {at all} so this will be a wonderful change.
  • Along with healthy eating, we are planning to work on our lives spiritually as well. We of course moved to a new area so finding a new church home is important to us. To meet people, make friends, and be a part of this new community. The dust has settled and we are ready {hopefully}.
  • A solid daily routine is important as well. I usually get up in enough time to get ready, grab a cup of joe, and get to work. With this new healthy routine I have to incorporate breakfast, so I plan to get up one hour earlier than usual. Then I can add "make the bed" to my routine which actually makes "getting back in bed" more difficult :).
  • Date nights! Ah, I can't wait to have date nights again. He has been working nearly day and night and it would be nice to getting back to dating each other. Ow, ow!!
What about you? What are your goals?  Also, how is this picture-less post? Dig it? Boring?
