God's Judgment Enacted on American Soil

The Harbinger by Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn is an engaging book about an ancient prophecy applied to Israel that it seems has been applied to America as well. Watch this clip to get a better explanation of his book and the point of this post here.
On April 30^th 1789 America was dedicated in New York at St. Paul’s chapel.  Judgment returns to the consecration ground. And it did as you will see upon further reading.On 9/11 a shock wave was sent from ground zero to Federal Hall where Washington was sworn in and cracks appeared in its foundation.  A dark harbinger indeed and clearly symbolic for a Nation so prideful we the people may never repent as a people.  This initial attack was brought about to call us to repentance as the original 9 harbingers were intended to call Ancient Israel to repentance.
A nation cannot expect the bounty of heaven when it has turned from God.  Turned from God to worship money/mammon instead, and has turned from peace and embraced war and either forgotten God completely or uses him to vilify, demean and curse others.Yes, we the people have turned from God.
So let’s go through the 9 harbingers sent to Ancient Israel that are now being sent to America all based on Isaiah 9:10…… “9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the ^aprideand stoutness of heart,10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.”
1: The first Harbinger is the breach through the nations defenses allowed because the hedge of Gods protection has been removed.  It is a limited attack but one that serves to call the people to repentance; back to God.
2: The second Harbinger is the enemy attacking.  For Ancient Israel it was the Assyrians who spoke Akkaidian.  The Assyrians perfected Terrorism, they skinned those who rebelled against them and nailed their skins to walls to serve as a warning to all.  This is why the attack on Israel shook them to their core.  America was attacked by Terrorists who likewise chose the date 9/11 to send a message and who used tactics deliberately to strike fear in the hearts of all.  And there is one language that most resembles Akkaidian and that is Arabic.
3. The Third Harbinger is the defiant vow of the people to say “The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.”  Rather than repent for our fallen ways that cause God to remove his hedge of protection we instead stood defiant and trusted in ourselves rather than God, we turned to war; the way of the adversary rather than the peaceful path we are called by Christ to follow.
4. The Fourth Harbinger as rendered in the septuigant version of Isaiah 9:10 reads “The bricks are fallen down….but come….let us build for ourselves a tower.” This Harbinger is The Freedom Tower that is rising up at Ground Zero, a pinnacle of defiance.
5. The Fifth Harbinger refers to the hewn stone or in Hebrew, Gazit.  A quarried stone used as a corner stone to be the symbol of the rebuilding, of the stance of saying we have done nothing to repent for and we will not repent for our sins as a nation, we will rebuild and we will be stronger than ever.  It was the “Freedom Stone cut from a mountain and laid as the corner stone for the Freedom Tower, it was scrapped but nonetheless it serves as the fifth harbinger.
6. The Sixth Harbinger was the Sycamore of Ground Zero, articles were written about it.  It stood in the courtyard of St. Paul’s chapel at Ground Zero and was cut down by debris from the towers falling.
7. The Seventh Harbinger is the Ceder or Biblical Erez tree planted in place of the cut down Sycamore.  It was a gift to St. Paul’s chapel, it wasn’t planned but this Biblical warning of Divine judgment was replaying in America thousands of years after it played out originally in Ancient Israel.
8. The Eight Harbinger was when John Edwards spoke to a congressional caucus and built his entire speech on Isaiah 9:10 to comfort and inspire, yet the purpose of the passage is to serve as a warning of divine judgment he actually was, it could be argued, pronouncing judgment on the nation.  The Harbinger was the utterance of this verse and the speech built around it, the speech which boasts of how our might will grow to heights greater than ever before.
9. The Ninth Harbinger was the prophecy of Isaiah 9:10.  Senate Majority leader on Sept. 12^th2001 Tom Daschel recited it and added six words “That is what we will do.” He didn’t know the Harbingers would come to pass for America just as they had for Ancient Israel.
And then there was the judgment that came to pass as a direct result of 9/11 and arguably because we as a people did not repent and turn back toward God.
The Jewish calendar revolves around the weekly cycle of 6 days of labor and one day of rest-the Sabbath.  Likewise there are 6 years of labor and 6 harvests and one year of rest or Shemitah.  And the Shemitah was a year to cancel all debts.  All debts would be forgiven and the fields would be unworked.  And in Ancient Israel when the people were taken into captivity their time away from Israel was 70 years, determined by the years they had not practiced the Shemitah.  They had not practiced it because they feared economic collapse at having to cancel all debt.
And the last day of the Shemitah is the 29 day of Elul and it was on that day, the 29^th of September 2008 exactly 7 years after 9/11 that the housing bubble, brought about by our reaction to patriotically buy stuff and revive the economy by slashing interest rates, burst.It happened during the Hebrew month of Tishri, the seventh month of the year and 700 hundred billion dollars were wiped out, the stock market lost 777 points in a single day.  All on the final day of Shemitah, the day reserved for rest and cancellation of debits.  
And WallStreet was first called the buttonwood association because it was drawn up under a buttonwood tree, otherwise known as a Sycamore tree.  Therefore the Sycamore also represents our financial roots of power.
And George Washington had once said that we as a nation would enjoy prosperity and peace if we look to God and if we turn from him we will enjoy neither, and we have and so we have lost the peace and prosperity we once knew when God had blessed us above all other nations.
I cannot go into as much detail as the book does but this is definitely worth a read.
In the general relief society meeting tonight my wife said all the talks centered around the atonement of Jesus.  And the atonement is a reminder that we have all been forgiven, that the debt has been paid.  We need only turn back to God and to repent and we shall have our everlasting inheritance in the kingdom.  Jesus said “ A man who sins is a slave to that sin and a man in bondage canot remain in the masters house, but the son will always remain so if the son has set you free you are truly free.”  I’m paraphrasing but the atonement isn’t just a reminder of the forgiveness of being set free from sin it is also a call to repentance because in these times we as a church maybe but definitely as a nation must repent for casting God out of our lives, for casting him out of our foreign policy, out of our public square and indeed out of our homes and lives because we are too busy, too preoccupied with chasing wealth via the daily grind.
But if the son sets you free, you are truly free, what other slave can condemn you to servitude when the son has set you free?
