As you have probably figured out, I have a love affair with books.  If someone were to ask me, a perfect day then I would think of Sundays. After church, Brian and I love to come home and take a good nap before heading back to church or to dinner.
I usually can't sleep as long as he can, so my pastime is books.  I can get lost in characters and their lives and feel drawn to finish the book before I can resume to "normal life."
So, today I want to review one of my latest reads, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
DESCRIPTION:
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

This book was a good read, in my opinion.  I usually like the typical romance novels, but as of lately, I've been trying to expand and read new and different kinds of books.  This was one that challenged by "normal" reading material.  I really liked how the book kept you guessing and on your toes.
I will admit, however, that it was a hard read to get into at first.  I was confused for a little while since the book is written in past and present forms by chapter.  However, once it started lining up, I was invested and could not put it down.
I would recommend the book to someone.  And to make it even better, one of my favorite men will be starring in a film based on the movie in October of this year.  So, who is this man?

Oh, yes.  My forever hunk, Ben Affleck will star in the movie.  It will be in theaters on October 3, 2014. I can't wait to see the movie come to life on the big screen.  I also hope they keep it true to the book.  There is nothing more frustrating than when a movie completely does the book an injustice.
So, have you read the book? What were your thoughts?
