2012 started as uneventful as any other year. In February my niece and I started talking about going on a trip. At first we thought about going to Atlanta to see the set of The Vampire Diaries but that was going to be a little too expensive. So then we started talking about going to Comic-Con International in San Diego. Just a short 6 hour drive away. No problem. I said cool lets do it. From February on our lives were all about Road Trip 2012 and what a road trip it was.
Our first stop when we arrived in San Diego was at the convention center and of course we had to take our pictures with the sign. Who wouldn’t?
Then we drove up to hotel circle and picked up our badges a day early. These are the epic bags you get for free. I think she traded for her Hobbit bag (I can’t remember). I got VERY lucky and got a TVD bag . You don’t get to pick what bag you get. They don’t even show you the front of it when they hand it to you and there are a dozen different bags so I was lucky to get the only bag I wanted. Ok I would have settled for a Supernatural bag.
The next day started bright and early. We got in the Hall H line at 6am to see the cast of Twilight at 11am. Some people find it a little crazy to get up at the crack of dawn to sit in a line half the day but until you’ve done it and experienced it you will never understand just how much fun it actually is. We met so many cool people and lets face it we’re all a bunch of geeks there for the same reason. Not to mention the fact that if you aren’t in that line by at least 8am you won’t get into the hall.

Here are some other pics from our trip
Saturday at SDCC was freeking AMAZING! We didn’t have badges for Saturday but I’d found out (on Twitter) that the Extra TV show was setting up a stage right near the convention center and was having celebrity panel interviews every day of the convention. It took forever to find out what day which stars would be interviewed. So we got to the Extra TV stage at 7am, we were determined to be in the front row…and we were. Although we sat there all day, it was a lot of fun. We met some really nice people. Talked to the really cool security guards and met the stars from the Extra TV show. We also watched actor Kevin Bacon’s brother Michael do sound checks with their band.
Also at the Extra TV stage
Sunday was another super early day. We were in the Hall H line at 4am. We had several panels we were going to see that day and once again met some great people.
After Comic-Con I didn’t expect much to happen for the rest of the year.
I’d been a financial supporter of ISF, Ian Somerhalder Foundation, for a while, then I got involved in supporting this amazing little company called Built Of Barnwood. Owned by Ian and his brother.

I got involved in this little group called the BOBArmy. We are a small group who all work together to support and promote this little company and it’s owners. I’ve made some amazing and lifelong friends. One of my co-volunteers/best friends/sisters and I started a blog for the company which became the only official blog for the company. We’ve done a few fundraisers as well. It’s a labor of love. We love our Somerhalders and we love each other.
Other things that happened in 2012…
Weight loss. I started in February at 265lbs in a size 26/28. Now at the end of December and the end of the year I am down to 188lbs and in a size 18. 33 more to go til my goal. The only problem with losing weight is that it sucks for the pocket book, however, buying new clothes is fun.
So that’s about it. On to 2013
