These brownies are dangerous...
We had a get together over at our house a few weeks ago. Some extremely delicious desserts were consumed by me and the other ladies in attendance. The gentlemen were too busy watching football and drinking beers...
The next day Ryan complained that it wasn't fair that he didn't get to have any of the desserts - so I created these guys for him to gobble down and take to work the next day.
These turned out better than I could have ever imagined. 10 minutes before they came out of the oven I was getting nervous - the way I always do when I "make something up". After these cooled a little, I cut them up and placed 2 in bowls with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top. I could have eaten 40 of them...
Peanut Butter Brownies
1 box of fudge brownie mix & ingredients listed on the box
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons milk
1/3 cup powdered sugar, sifted
Chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare brownie mix according to the package directions. If there is a "fudge" option, go with that one. Spray 13x9 cooking dish and pour batter evenly in the bottom.
2. In a small microwaveable bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the peanut butter, vanilla and milk until smooth. Slowly add in the sifted powdered sugar. Mix well.
3. Drop tablespoons of the peanut butter mixture on top of the brownie batter. Using a knife, swirl the peanut butter into the brownie batter. Once completely swirled, top with chocolate chips (I love semisweet!!).
4. Bake for 33-35 minutes, until the center is set and doesn't "jiggle". Pierce with a toothpick to make sure it is baked through. Cool almost completely before you cut the brownies or try to remove them from the pan. If you try too early they will fall apart.
