Today’s two grammar tips (OK, writing tips):
- The phrase “rarely ever” is redundant. “I rarely
eversleep late, but today I stayed in bed until 11 a.m.” See? “Ever” adds nothing. - State your thought clearly. If you write, “I like Frank better than Nancy,” do you mean, “I like Frank better than Nancy likes Frank” or “I like Frank better than I like Nancy”? Use as few words as possible but always enough to be clear.
