Today’s two grammar tips:
- In indicates where something is right now. Into implies movement from one place to another. I’m in the car. If you don’t get into the car right now, you’ll be eating my dust.
- Never use myself when I or me sounds right. So, don’t say, “Jim and myself were invited to the party.” Don’t say, “Mom made a cake for Bill and myself.” Myself is called a reflexive pronoun, which means it refers back to the subject of the sentence. So, “I hurt myself” or “I did it myself” are proper uses of the word.
