{Guest Post} Homemade Play-Dough Recipe

Posted on the 08 May 2012 by Brittany_tyd @Brittany_TYD
Today we have a special treat! Katlyn from The Dreamy Meadow (and one of TYD's lovely May sponsors!), stopped by to share a recipe. This isn't your typical recipe, but it sure is a fun one. I remember my mom making this when I was a kid, so I'm pretty stoked that Katlyn can pass this onto all of you!

Hey everyone! I'm Katlyn from over at The Dreamy Meadow and I am super stoked about guest posting on  Three Years Down. Brittany is one lovely person I tell you! But on to the fun stuff, yes?
Brace yourself for the greatest play-dough recipe you have ever laid your eyes on! This lovely dough is fun to make on top of being non-toxic! It also lasts up to 6 months in sealed containers. Do I have your attention yet? Good... Then let's get at it.
What you will need:
1 cup Flour
1 cup Water
1/4 cup Salt
1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
2 tsp Cream of Tarter (the secret for moistness)
Food coloring or Kool-aide
Sparkles (if you want to be fun)
Sauce Pan & Wooden Spoon
Containers (Small Ziplocs are the perfect size)
Put all of the ingredients into the sauce pan.
Mix until combined and smooth in texture.
Place on stove over medium heat and stir. Keep stirring until the dough forms into a ball on your spoon.
You are now ready to package and play with your lovely homemade play-dough! :) Enjoy.. Once you try this you will never ever want to buy that store bought junk again!
