Happy Birthday Alicia Silverstone!

Clueless! Yay!

Animal welfare activist and vegan author Alicia Silverstone was born today! I’ll be watching “Excess Baggage” and “Clueless” in her honor. October 4th is also the birth date of silent movie star Buster Keaton and vampire authoress Anne Rice.

Other Awesome People With October Birthdays:

Oct. 8th – R.L. Stine, author of all the Goosebumps books I read as a kid.

Oct. 13th – Chris Carter, creator of “The X-Files” also known as “Hot David Duchovny Hour”

Oct. 14th – e e cummings, poet extraordinaire

Oct. 16th – Oscar Wilde, witty playwright and all-around dandy

Oct. 20th – Tom Petty, singer of all things awesome. Also, Bela Lugosi, who played a vampire in so many movies he was buried in his iconic cape.

Oct. 24th – Kevin Kline, damn fine actor. For reference, see any movie he’s ever made. EVER.

Oct. 25th – Picasso, that dude who painted those weird fragmented people.

Happy Birthday Alicia Silverstone!

My favourite Picasso prominently features nude hookers. Love it! "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon"

Oct. 27th – Capt. Cook, adventurer who was the first European to explore the Tahitian Islands, New Zealand and Hawaii. He was ultimately killed in a battle with indigenous Hawaiians. He likely deserved it.

Oct. 29th – Winona Ryder, doe-eyed actress with a goth edge. I love her. See “Beetlejuice”

Oct. 31st – John Candy, Canadian comedian and actor. Much loved, much missed. One of only 4 entertainers to be featured on a Canadian stamp.

As if Halloween and Canadian Thanksgiving (or as I like to call it, The Real Thanksgiving) don’t make October fun enough, look at all the wonderful people there are to celebrate.

Happy Birthday Alicia Silverstone!
