Happy Hump Day.
Hello wonderful followers and happy Wednesday.
Today, I have a lot of thoughts floating around in my head. I think it's going to take a couple of days to compose and process them (which is good because I have a weekend ahead of me with aimple processing time!), but hopefully a post will be up soon.
In the meantime, the lovely Cara from The Marvelous Flight of Cara tagged me in the 11 Questions Meme (I think that's what it's officially called) the other day. Now, in case you forgot, I was actually previously tagged in said meme and already did a post with eleven facts about myself, eleven questions, and eleven tags. As such, I shall not bore you with eleven more facts or eleven more questions or eleven more tags. If you're really just dying to know all sorts of things about me, you can also check out my about me page, where you will find 23 facts about myself (which will give you a total of 32 facts about myself because two of them cross over).
And to make it an even 35, I'll give you three more facts.
  1. My favorite candy is M&Ms.
  2. I can almost quote the entirety of "The Princess Bride."
  3. My dream role is Mille Dillmount in "Thoroughly Modern Millie."
And now, for Cara's questions.
  1. If you had to choose a name for your future baby girl right now, what would it be? Imbi Aurora. It was my great-grandmother's name. I found out when I was in high school that this is what my mom really wanted to name me, but since she got veto power on my big sister's name, my dad got veto power on my name. But I absolutely adore this name and I don't care what my husband says, this is what my first daughter will be named.
  2. Do you plan your outfit for the next day inside your head the night before, or do you just pick something out of the closet in the morning? It depends on the day. For work, almost always. But that's largely because I wake up at 5am and no one wants to consciously think about what outfit to wear at 5am. But on days off, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. And sometimes I'll plan the outfit the night before and then totally change it when I wake up.
  3. If you had to write a book on one topic, what would it be? Authentic Biblical community. In fact, I really, really, really want to actually write a book on that topic one day.
  4. Do you tend to choose warm drinks or cold drinks from Starbucks (or your coffee shop of choice)? It completely depends on the time of year. When it's warm outside, I get a cold drink (iced venti unsweetened passion tea, to be precise). When it's cold outside, I get a hot drink (apple chai or the occasional peppermint hot chocolate spurge).
  5. What caused you to start blogging? Has the reason changed or expanded? I originally started blogging as a way to process my thoughts. Writing is the way I process things and I found that I process through some parts of my life best by journaling about them, but I also realize other things and process things differently when I'm writing to an audience. The eseential purpose for my blog is still the same. I still write to process life and the way I view things, but it has certainly expanded. I used to only write when I had these brilliant theological revelations, but because those tend to be few and far between, my blogging was sporadic at best. I now use my blog to write about a lot of things going on in my life, as well as things I'm thinking about, be it my faith, my friends, my family, or the fact that tailgating drivers irritate me.
  6. What's your favorite Bible verse? I suppose technically it's Bible verses, but I absolutely adore 1 Peter 1:6-9: In this you greatly rejoice, though now, for a little while, you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith, of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire, may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (I apologize if that isn't completely 100% accurate. I did it from memory.)
  7. What's your biggest goal in life? To glorify the Lord in every thing I do.
  8. What are you most passionate about, above all else? My faith. I admit, I wander and I waver, but I always come back to it. My Savior is the reason I live and breathe each day. He is the reason I write, the reason I dance, the reason I sing, the reason I work. Without Him, I would have no purpose for doing anything.
  9. If you were stranded on a desert island, (yes, I'm asking this) and could only have five items with you (books, food, etc.), what would those five be? My Bible, a journal with never-ending pages, an endless supply of french bread and strawberries, a blanket, and a piano.
  10. What's your all-time favorite app for the iPhone? Oh. I don't know. Aside from all my social media apps like Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, Instagram, etc. and the basic apps like Messages and Email and such, the only one I really use super often is Words With Friends.
  11. What's your favorite time of day, and why? Late at night. I've always been a night owl. It's when I'm usually the most awake and it's almost always when I'm the most productive. It more than frustrates me that I currently work a job that doesn't really allow for me to be up much later than 11pm on any given night without making me want to shoot myself in the face from exhaustion the next day.
So there you have it, ladies and gents. Hope you enjoyed the answers to those questions. And, once again, happy hump day!
