Hassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!

Parties are often tricky!! Arranging and hosting a party are 2 things that many of us struggle with and I am no different when it comes to having a party. Personally I love attending parties but I keep myself away from arranging one. It was my Birthday last week and that’s when I decided to host a party at home for a change :) this year. I wanted a break from the formal family dinner and the crazy pub night with friends so I clubbed them both.Thankfully my birthday was on a Friday this year that meant the weekend had already started :) I had a few ideas in mind and I zeroed it down to a small gathering with close family and friends (30 people) plus a few helpers, Since I had all age groups, I thought of keeping Retro as a theme and entertainment included things which all the age groups could enjoy equally. I started with deciding upon the venue and how I wanted to keep the ambiance. The decor was kept simple, I only made use of candles and fresh flowers to spruce up my home and it did the trick!Hassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!Next was the difficult task of deciding upon the entertainment. Now it was something that I really had to think and plan carefully. Hassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!The First thing that came to my mind was choosing the right Music that could go well with the theme so I started selecting hit numbers decade wise starting from the 70’s till the recent ones. I started with mellow numbers and made sure the music only got faster with the night :)Then I asked one of my close friends who happens to be a bollywood freestyle dance expert to arrange for a fun dance lesson for the guests where anyone could follow her steps and dance :) And mind you…It was a hit…everyone had an awesome time :) Next I decided upon a drinking contest. I laid down a bar sort of table and asked my house helper to be the bartender and taught her to make 2 types of drinks from colas. And I kept a prize for the winner who could drink the maximum number of drinks without burping ….he he :)Lastly I had to choose the menu which I thought would be the toughest one but it proved out to be the easiest of them, All thanks to Kitchensof India.  I thought, why to bother mom when I could arrange everything on my own. I quickly checked out the range online and placed an order and  hired a trainee cook who could prep all the food during the dinner party. So the menu went like this: Welcome Drink: Litchi Juice and Spicy Aam Panna Hassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!Starters: Chicken Tikka, Mutton Shammi Kebabs, Afghani soya chap, Cheese n pineapple sticksHassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!Main Course: ChickenDarbari, MurghMethi, DalBukhara , MughlaiPaneer, MirchKa Salan, HyderabadiChicken Biryani and and tandoori butter paranthas.Hassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!Dessert:Jodhpuri Moong Dal Halwa and Vanilla Ice cream topped with chocolate syrupHassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!After the yummy scrumptious dinner, It was time to say good bye and that’s when I yet again surprised everyone with a pack of Gourmet Gifts - Halwas 2 Pack as a return gift since it’s our family tradition to not to send any guest empty handed.Hassle Free Weekend Dinner Party!!
