We're just barely under a year out from when the DNC will announce the victor of the 2020 Democratic Party presidential clusterf...primaries. Then the GOP will announce their (deep breath) candidate, and then the 2020 presidential campaign officially begins.
I'll give you a second to breathe (inhale...and exhale). You good?
Here's the thing, as important as the presidential election is, it is also incredibly distracting. There are a lot of other elections going on that are just as, and in some cases more, important.
All 435 seats in the House are once again up for grabs. In the Senate 33 seats are up for regular election. Then there's state and local governments.
It's a lot, but you have time. Time to educate yourself. Time to take mental breaks so you don't completely lose your mind. Time to create an informed opinion. Time to make small efforts that can lead to larger changes.
It's not going to be easy. There are going to be a lot of distractions. One of them is going to be our current president, but we've got this. Just take it one ripple at a time.
P.S.-To get you started, here's some info on the 2020 Senate seats up for grabs...and if you need to register to vote ...
...just for fun:
