The Friday Rejoicer @ Yoogane Bugis Junction
I have finally tasted the Korea’s famous Chicken Galbi from the Yoogane restaurant which was opened in Singapore this year May.
Established in 1981, Yoogane prides ourselves as one of the most popular and best Chicken Galbi Restaurants in Korea – all this is made possible through the continuous support and love from our customers.
Yoogane is extremely well received in Busan , Korea – where it all started. Despite fierce competition from other restaurants specializing in chicken galbi, we were able to achieve tremendous success. The unique blend of sauces and seasoning that we have developed using top and fresh ingredients is what sets us apart from others.

Forgot to take photos of the long queue. For reference, the photo above was taken from Yoogane FB. You can see the long queue for the first day. I thought the craze would have dropped after one month. However, my queue length was still very long when I visited the place on a weekday at 6.20pm.
I managed to get seated at 7pm and able to enjoy their small variety of side dish which consists of kimchi, capsicum salad, shredded lettuce and pickled ginger. No photos as I was quite disappointed with the stingy selection and poor hygienic arrangement. After filling my rumbling stomach with the kimchi, I at last took the time to observe the surrounding while waiting for the food. Homely and sturdy feel with bricks and concrete interiors.
My friend and I were seated beside the soft drink fridge. You can order the Korean beverage.
A transparent kitchen to cook the side dishes.
This was what I ordered. A mix of everything. Very sumptuous for two! Beware best to bring more people to finish for 2-pax portion.
Our food arrived.
Seafood to be cooked last
Start to cook. Sizzling!
Cutting up the octopus.
All cooked! Look yummy!
Overall, I felt the food was so-so. The taste was like something you can find in any Kopitiam Korean store. The spiciness was actually quite alright for someone who can take only a little spicy. The portion was big for two girls so best to eat in a big group where you can add other sides like instant noodle, rice cake and such. My friend and I only managed to finish half of it. Quite wasted.
Spent $60 for the Seafood and Chicken Galbi with addition yam filling rice cake including GST.
