Healthy Living On The Go & Two Delicious Recipes!

The job of a full time employee and wife, both which are blessings, can also take a lot of time. Unfortunately one of the first things to go out the door in a fast paced week is the healthy lifestyle routine. The 3pm chocolate loves my hips too much to put it down and I often hear the gym calling my name but after a long day its easy to just zoom on by. But after a few weeks of eating crap food and feeling bloated like a balloon I decided something needed to change and I needed to start figuring out a way to incorporate healthy habits into my busy little life. The role of a mother hasn't been added to this mix yet but one day it will and these habits need to be in place. And lets be honest the vain side of me wants to still fit into my wedding dress on my one year anniversary ha.
So I'm here today to introduce you to some of my healthy lifestyle habits for the busy life that most of us lead.
1. Plan. this one gets me every time. If there is nothing in the house I resort to eating whatever is in and typically it's not the healthiest of things. So make sure to plan to have the right foods in.  I also try to plan my week and decide on Sunday night what nights I will be gyming-it for the following week, typically if this schedule is written down and communicated with S than I'll be more likely to see it through.
2. Prepare. If this step isn't done it's an easy excuse for not following through. It's true that if you 'don't plan than you plan to fail'. My preparation is making sure my lunch is made, packed and ready to go. Same with the gym, if I don't get my clothes together and take them with me in the morning than the gym is an automatic fail. Make sure to prepare these things for the next day and chances are you're already more likely to succeed.
3. Change it up. The same gym routine, like the same healthy foods, get extremely boring after a while so make sure to differentiate what you do and what you eat. I'll sometimes take a class at the gym once or twice a week so that I have someone else pushing me and so that there's variation. I also try different healthy recipes so I'm not always eating the same boring things.
