Henry's at Five Months
My handsome little man is five months old and he has seemingly changed so much this month! So let's jump into his update and fill you in on what he's been getting up to.
This month Henry experienced his first taste of solid food. He had been trying to grab food out of our hands for a little while so we decided to try him on puree's. We always said that we would try and wait till he was six months, but this little chap had his own ideas and was clearly ready. Not all babies are text book so I know I'm comfortable with our decision. We have been making our own puree's and he's had a couple of the pouches too (they're fab for on the go!) and he has tried a lot of different fruit and veg. There hasn't been anything he dislikes so, so far so good!.
He is interacting more and more with his sister, giggling, watching her every move and leaning in for cuddles with her. He is becoming such an affectionate boy, seeing them snuggle up together holding hands literally makes mine and Jamie's hearts melt. If you take a look at our weekly vlogs you can see their relationship definitely growing!
He is also making more and more of an effort to try and get crawling, constantly going onto all fours and pushing himself forward. I don't think it will happen soon but he's trying his hardest, bless him!
I went and got him weighed last week and he now weighs 18lbs 7oz! He is still breastfeeding too and I'm still hoping to continue until he is a year old. The big challenge will be when I return to work (next month!) we are still struggling to get him to have a bottle, I'm thinking of trying him with a sippy cup instead and see if he will take anything. It's my one and only stress about going back to work!
Unfortunately he is teething quite badly at the moment and it is affecting his sleep. He is quick to settle, but wakes 2-3 times in the night. I can see two little teggys underneath his gums so I don't think it will be long before the pop through.
