Hiking in West Los Angeles

I'm not an outdoorsy Person.  I'm not anywhere near being a gym fan either.
But I do like walking. I love clean air, and I can't get enough of pretty things that happen to be part of nature.  Hiking, by it simple nature, is the perfect form of not only entertainment, of sorts, but a way to do something good for my soul and my body.
These are a few pictures of my most recent hike.
Enjoy!

I always wear a SPF-proof  hat and slather the sunscreen when I go hiking.
I also wear layers to alternate between the heat and chill at the end of each hike.

This is one of the many trail starts for this particular hike.  It's absolutely lovely and serene.

This trail had a remnant of what looked like an Indian sweat lodge.

I always feel like I'm traveling out-of-state when I see one of the two lakes in this trail.

This was Princess Maya's first hike - and she loved it!

Ducks, ducks and more ducks!

I could have stood in the same spot for hours looking at the fish, ducks and turtles.

This is a much better view of the lake.  Isn't it lovely?

Princess Maya did great - up and down inclines, just like us.
If you look to the left of this picture you will see the larger lake.

Can you believe this view is from, literally, less than three miles from where I live?  Heaven!

The wishing well is at the second lake.  It always makes me so happy to see it.

I had never seen a turtle this color.  It was very, very large - almost the size of a cat and pretty much sat perfectly comfortable while we took photos.

Do you see these turtles?

If turtles and ducks can coexist, so can we!
