With another Royal Wedding behind us, I’m sure we’re all coming down off of the high of that parade of hats and titles you didn’t know existed. Not to mention the 6 AM wake up call for anyone who wanted to watch it live.
And if you tuned in specifically for the hat fashion (and who didn’t, really?), have I got good news for you. Don’t put away those bonnets and fascinators just yet. We’ve got a horse race to watch.
Yes that’s right, one high-societ moment is being immediately followed by another with the running of the Preakness this afternoon in Baltimore.
I know the Derby has more of a reputation for its hat fashion, but incredible millinery work has a strong history with all horse racing. Case in point:
Of course, in addition to the fashion show, it’s also another shot at the Triple Crown for Justify who won the Kentucky Derby just weeks ago. He may not be the favorite, but that’s what makes it exciting. So best of luck to Justify and to everyone boldly pushing the boundaries of modern millinery fashion. I salute you.
