Honeymoon Day 1 LA

Posted on the 02 September 2012 by Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

It almost feels surreal that our honeymoon is finally here. In what seemed to feel like the longest 2 weeks we dropped the dogs off yesterday morning, grabbed a quick ride to the airport and headed off to our first stop, LA.

Our starting point for Thailand, we have until Tuesday morning to see as much of the city that we can squeeze in. Strangely I have been to LA 3 times for work but never for fun. We have taken a very relaxed approach and don’t really have any solid plans. So not me! But we already filled our first half day pretty well.

Landing around 1:30, we made our way to pick up our rental car and ended up with a pretty nice upgrade. It also helped that they were almost out of cars! A quick check in at the hotel and an on the fly decision to go see a Dodgers game and grab dinner in Chinatown.

I really love baseball and seeing new ball parks so this was a perfect activity. A warm September evening spent viewing a national past time. Dodger stadium Is celebrating 50 years and is definitely a unique stadium to see. We found tickets for $19 a piece out in the benches for the left field pavilion. What are normally the cheap seats turned out to be great! Lots of balls coming our way.

It just so happened to be Bark in the Park, where fans buy a special ticket to bring their dogs to the game. So fun seeing all the dogs in the shirts, scarves and jerseys! I wish the Twins would do this. We saw a Dodger win and headed back to our hotel to pass out. I think we were sleeping within 5 minutes!

Best parts of the day? Knowing we have almost 2 full weeks off, seeing hundreds of Dodger dog fans for Bark in the Park and a few great shots of LA at night.

What’s next? Heading to do some wine tasting in Santa Barbara today. So excited!
