Hornsbury Mill Wedding : Preview Images

Posted on the 17 June 2016 by Belinda Mccarthy @b_mccarthyphoto

It's high time I previewed this lovely Somerset wedding to you all! This was my first Hornsbury Mill wedding of the year, and I couldn't have been luckier than to photograph it for such a lovely couple as Alice and Matthew. They were so excited to be taking their next steps together in life as husband and wife, and had put so much effort into making the day everything that they had hoped for. It was a total privilege to be there to document their all-important wedding day for them.

The bride held her preparations back at her family home in Crewkerne, prior to travelling to Hatch Beauchamp to marry in the village church. Although there was no photography allowed during the actual ceremony, we were utterly spoilt with the beautiful location. It's rare that I get to carry out many couples wedding portraits at church, other than with the church as a backdrop, as there is generally little in terms of location available; however, at Hatch Beauchamp there is a truly beautiful meadow and pond just adjacent to the church yard, which was the perfect location to steal away and take a few shots whilst the confetti corridor was being lined up. Importantly, it gave the couple some privacy during their portraits and a little time to take stock of the momentous occasion - very important when you've just taken the huge step of getting married!

The wedding reception was held at Hornsbury Mill in Somerset, where the couple and their families had put a huge amount of thought and effort into dressing the space give their guests a truly memorable occasion. As there were strong farming links in the family, it was only right and proper that a rural theme take centre stage.

Although the ground around the lake at Hornsbury Mill was a little too boggy that day to use to its full advantage (due to heavy rain the day before), we still managed to steal some additional couples portraits later in the day in other areas of the venue's grounds, prior to me stealing away to let the couple enjoy the rest of their wedding day.

So onto the preview images, and congratulations again from me to the happy couple! I couldn't have worked for nicer people, and I'm so glad that they had an amazing day.
