Achieve Better Pagerank

Hey guys, I’m back with another article, I was away because of exams and still my exams are going on. I’m here because I wanted to discuss about the recent Google PageRank update. Although it was rumored that Google will not update PageRank till 2014 but an update from Google has amazed bloggers and webmasters. It was just like a surprise from Google as no one was expecting the PageRank update. Even I believed that there would be no PageRank update from Google at least till 2014. Well, Google announced it and it was very compelling for some webmasters as they achieved what they needed, it’s a fact that not everyone is happy from this update because many good sites had lost their PageRanks.

Even though Matt Cutts said that there will be no PageRank update till 2014 but still advertisers were considering it as an important factor. Every advertiser looks for PR blogs no matter the blog is worth considering or not, now PageRank has added value to sites again and advertisers can merely concern it for choosing good blogs and blogs can attract advertisers with their PageRank.

This PageRank update made me happy because it is my 2nd big achievement after getting into the top 100k sites list according to Alexa.

Let’s come to the topic, the answer of the question how to achieve a better PageRank is in my journey. I already knew that these factors can improve my PageRank as I already had worked on 2-3 blogs before. It’s the right time to share with you guys, so you guys can achieve better PageRank in next updates.

How to achieve a better PageRank?

I worked out on different factors, I wasn’t aiming to get high PageRank, I was aiming to do everything perfect, I completely oppose the thinking of  considering only search engines or giving importance to only search engines but I never left search engines. I have done the following measures to achieve PageRank:

Links pointing to my blog:

When I inaugurated my first blog, about 2 years ago, my main intention was to get page rank. I was learning about Google ranking measures and made changes according to it, I found that backlinks are doing great for people, I started making backlinks. I never cared for their quality, my objective was to get backlinks and after generating too much backlinks there was no change in my PageRank. On this blog I have chosen quality and got few links pointing to me from quality sites.

My Strategies to get backlinks:

  • Blog Commenting
  • Guest Posting
  • Q&A Sites
  • Webmaster Forums

Blog Commenting and Guest Posting were my powerful tools, you should use both of them but remember, only building quality links would help you.

Socializing:

Some guys would not agree with me but my blogging journey towards achieving PageRank includes social signals. No doubt Google is my #1 traffic source but my traffic from social networking sites always competes with search engine traffic.  I’m not sure that Google includes social signals in PageRank factors or not but I have been utilizing social signals from start and I think it had worked for me.

Internal Linking:

You might have noticed that I have been internal linking all of my posts excluding only few posts. I was not focusing on internal linking at start but I saw some websites which were ranked high on Google were doing this so I started implementing it. It doesn’t only add value to your PageRank but you can increase your site’s pageviews too. Linking your related posts is also a great way to reduce bounce rate and to increase usability.

Managing Content in the Right Manner:

You are planning to get a better PageRank, right? First of all look for what Google expects from you and how you are going to satisfy Google. Google is always ready to penalize sites which don’t satisfy its users. The right content should be managed in the right manner. Although content doesn’t hold much importance but you should take it under consideration to improve PageRank. Make Google realize how important the content is by pointing some quality backlinks to your content. Let Google know that you already know its ranking criteria and you are striving to follow the criteria.

Conclusion:

Different people have different thoughts about advertisers, not every advertiser considers PageRank as an important factor, but most of them do. PageRank add values to your blog, it also builds some respect for your blog. So, what you have achieved in this PageRank update? Share in the comments!
