How To Add A Follower Box to Your Blog

I have had people ask me how to add a follower box. It is pretty simple, but if you are new to blogspot, then you probably have the new version of blog spot. Get rid of it, it's hard to work with. Get the older version, it's actually prettier and sooo much easier to work with. It may not be modern, but the older version is easy to use. How do you switch from old version to new? I will tell you how to do that as well. I will also be doing this by pictures, so it is easy. It is always easier for me to see a visual.
First of all, I will tell you how to switch from new version to old version...So, your screen will probably look like this at first...The new version...Then, in the upper right hand corner, there are two buttons, one says "English" or your language, and the other is a gear wheel...You want to click the gear wheel and then a drop bar will come down...Click on the button in the drop bar that says, "Old Blogger interface"... Then your new blogger dashboard should look something like the picture on the right...Your blogger dashboard now looks something like this...Now to add the 'Followers' box. It's very simple and easy from here on out, especially with the photos and step by step instructions. Here is how to add the followers box... or any box really.First, on the new blogger dashboard, you are going to find and click 'Design'... When you click on 'Design', it brings you to a whole other page... the design page.Find and click, 'Add a Gadget'...and a window will pop up with a bunch of gadget choices.Scroll down in the window, and find the box that says, "Followers"...Click on the little box with the white plus sign in it. It should be on the right hand side of the window...Mine says, 'Already added' because I already have it added to my gadget box.Next, your screen will go back to the 'Design' page. You have your gadget bar, whether it be on the left or right, mine happens to be on the right. In your gadget bar, you might have an 'About me' box, and your 'blog archive' in your gadget bar, now you will have a 'Followers' box in your gadget bar...You can also edit the color of the followers box, and change the title of the 'Followers' box to anything. When you click on 'Edit', another window pops up. You can edit your 'Followers' box and personalize it to match the colors of your blog. The default template of the Followers box happens to match the colors of my blog, so I just kept it at Default.Once you are done editing, and  are happy with your 'Follower' box, you can drag it and drop it anywhere in your gadget bar. It has to be in your gadget bar though. You can move it up or down, but it has to be somewhere in your gadget bar. This is how my gadget bar turned out...I put it under neath my twitter box...And this is how it will look on your blog... well this is how it looks on my blog. The finishing touch :)If you know how to work with HTML, You can mess around with the HTML and change some stuff up.But that is how you add a follower box to your blog so you can collect followers. When I get new followers, it seriously makes my day! I am so excited about new followers and new comments, they make me so happy and that means that my blog is climbing up the popular ladder of blogs. I am still way down below, but I am climbing up and I am so happy! It is almost my blog's first birthday, I got my blog on August 6, 2011. August 6 is also Lucille Ball's birthday, so I will have to do something special for her birthday too. Cupcakes? Party? Projects? YES!Hope this tutorial was helpful to all of you who wanted to add a followers box.If you have any questions, comment :) Or if you just wanna say , "HI!" comment! :)
