How To Make ME A Better ME {Guest Post}

Posted on the 21 January 2013 by Wifessionals @wifessionals

Ok first of all.... let me just take a quick moment and stand in awe that little ol me is posting on Wifessionals!!!!!  I mean really... how awesome!  Thanks, Kaitlyn.  I'm so excited to be here.
I guess now would be a great time for me to introduce myself to you.  I'm Jami and I blog over at Lulu Mom.  I'm a wife to a police officer and a mama to a 2 year old... and I pretty much love my family to pieces.  I'm an Oklahoma girl who is now living life in beautiful Colorado. I just can't quite believe that 2012 ended and we are in 2013.
I usually do a New Years post on my blog but I just flew back from Oklahoma and am still trying to play catch up, so I'll get it up there eventually.  For now I want to tell you one of my resolutions.... my hope is to focus on being a better ME.
Ok, let me explain.
When you get married you become "so and so's wife" and then if you have a kiddo, you become "so and so's mama" and if you work at a job you are a "cashier" a "manager" you get the point.  I spend a LOT of my time focusing on how to be a better mom, wife and manager but not a whole lot of time being a better me... so this year that's what I'm going to do. I truly believe that sometimes focusing on yourself is actually helpful with all of your other "Titles" in life.  If I better myself, I'm actually bettering my job as a wife, and all of my other jobs. So here is how I plan to do that and I actually challenge you to do something to make you a better you!! Here it goes... how to make ME and better ME.

Get in some serious QT with the Man Upstairs.

I love the quote from Lysa TerKeurst, "Do not check in with screaming demands of the world before you exchange whispers with God."

Take 10 minutes a day and do something for you!

10 minutes... that's it.  10 minutes a day of complete selfish whatever you want.For me this might be a nap, but I promise not to feel guilty.

Enjoy some time alone or with some girl friends.

I don't know about you but sometimes some kid free, uninterrupted girl time can put a smile on my face and help me laugh away the stress!

Get beautified!

Soak in a bubble bath, get a pedicure, a hair cut... do something that makes you feel beautiful!Well that's my plan for 2013.
Now pop on over to my blog and tell me what you do to make yourself a better YOU!  :)
