How to Save Money this Christmas!

1. Change supermarkets

We all spend a tremendous amount in the supermarket at Christmas time, but switching to Aldi or Lidl for the festive season could well save a few pounds. They've both done very well in taste-tests when compared with other more expensive brands! So why not give them a try.

2. Make use of vouchers

If you've been collecting vouchers all year, now is a great time to spend them to save on the christmas shopping! Make good use of the vouchers you receive from loyalty schemes such as Tesco Clubcard, you can sometimes get double or even quadruple the value when using these on the Clubcard website. Also do keep an eye out for vouchers that you're passed by cashiers when purchasing something in store, Boots often give out money-saving coupons.

3. Use the Internet

Things tend to be cheaper online so always check the web first. Even if you're in store, a quick browse on your phone could reveal you can get whatever you're about to purchase cheaper. If this is the case, ask a member of staff if the store will price match, because a lot of places will, especially if  the product can be purchased cheaper on sites like Amazon. So it's ALWAYS worth checking online and then asking in store.

4. Get paid to shop

If you're doing your christmas shopping at home, don't forget about cash back! For the amount you'll likely be spending it's so worth getting something back. Websites such as Quidco.com or Topcashback.co.uk are simple to use, just create an account and use the site to access high street and online retailers. When you buy your gifts you will receive a percentage of the value of your shopping and the cashback will be paid directly into your account.

5. Don't ignore the discounts

Don't forget about websites like VoucherBin.co.uk who handpick the best voucher codes daily for all of the most popular stores such as BHS, Homebase, Wallis, Currys etc. If you don't want to browse through all the discounts, simply search by category (i.e. Baby & Child) and/or by your budget. Websites like these are so easy to use and really can save quite a bit of money! Christmas is an expensive time of the year for many, but there really are many ways that money can be saved, it's just about remembering to put these money-saving tips into good practice. :) How are you trying to save money this Christmas? How to Save Money this Christmas!
