How To Strengthen Your Pelvic Floor

I remember briefly reading a paragraph in a pregnancy book about the importance of kegel exercises during my first pregnancy...

And that was it.

That was the entire extent of the information I received them, or the damage that child bearing could do to my pelvic floor without them.

They were never mentioned to me by any Dr or midwife, and so they slipped right out of my mind. I naively assumed that if they were that important, somebody would have mentioned them to me...right?

Wrong!

I thought I'd gotten off lightly on the pelvic floor front with my first and second children, but after my third was born I started to notice that it was that much harder to hold my pee in when I sneezed...a feeling which is definitely up there with the most embarrassing moments of my life so far! I mean, I was only 34?!

I started wearing pantyliners daily for fear of accidents, but this was inconvenient and quite pricey too...not ideal by any means, so when I was given the chance to try out the Innovoa non-invasive device designed to treat the root cause of incontinence (weakened pelvic floor muscles!) using pain-free muscle stimulation.  The Innovo is clinically proven to work, with 93% of users seeing a marked improvement within just 4 weeks and 86% finding that they were completely dry or almost dry after 12 weeks.

I jumped at it! (But not too high, or...you know....accidents!)

I've been wearing the bicycle-short style pads every day for 30 minutes, and it has been super convenient as it involves zero effort from me (my favorite kind of exercise!). I just pop them on, set the programme and let it do its thing.

I have to be honest, I was skeptical about whether it would work after three pregnancies and - honestly? - ZERO kegel exercises during that time. Surely it couldn't repair that much damage!?

But I'm amazed to say that after 12 weeks of use, I am no longer using pantyliners and I'm even using a higher setting on the Innovo programme which demonstrates the difference it's made!

I'm honestly astounded that an external device has managed to make this sort of difference in such a short time, and I only wish I'd known about it sooner.
