I sort of feel like Halloween is being embraced in the UK quite a bit more than it ever has previously, although it might just be me embracing it a little more now that I have children of my own. I'm really enjoying making something of the yearly occasions, such as Halloween. I feel like although I always try to do something fun with the kids everyday, the occasions, when there's a theme, feel so much more fun!
This year Adam worked a late shift at work, so with Logan being so young and me being on my own, we decided to stay at home. I purchased a little baby skeleton outfit for Logan to wear, which he looked adorable in. And I recycled an outfit from last year for Ethan and dressed him as a raccoon, which looked utterly adorable on him too.
I'd brought them some new Halloween-themed children's books, which they loved, especially my little bookworm, Ethan! We'd made Peppa Pig Halloween cupcakes the week before and we'd stocked up on chocolate for the trick or treaters and for ourselves (of course!).
We had a lovely day today and I really chilled out, which I really needed. In the evening after Logan went to bed, Ethan sat doing his Peppa Pig sticker book (which he LOVES!) and I sat down on the sofa under a blanket, with a glass of wine, watching what I think is the very best Halloween film ever - Hocus Pocus!
The film finished around 8pm and when Adam came home from work, Ethan went up to bed and we sat and ate pasta and left over chocolate whilst watching the X Factor (until I fell asleep on the sofa curled up with Charlie, my cat). It was lovely.
I hope you all had a lovely Halloween. How did you and your family spend it?
