Humidifiers.. Do We Need One? What Are The Benefits?

Humidifiers are something I learned about myself last year after we moved in to our new home. In short, how you would know you would need a humidifier is if you're starting to suspect that the air in your home is too dry. If this is the case than t's likely that you and your family would hugely benefit from owning a humidifier.
Static in your hair or when you touch someone during winter is an indication that the air in your home is probably too dry. If the air in your home is overly dry than you're respiratory system starts to suffer. You might wake up with a dry mouth and your skin and nasal passages will get very dry. Dry air can also make existing conditions worse and can even affect your lungs. humidity, Humidifiers, dyson Humidifier
The ideal humidity level in your home should be about 30-40 percent, anything that is a lot higher than that is likely indicating that you need a de-humidifier rather than a humidifier. The differences is are that one adds moisture in to the air, whilst the other sucks it out of the air.
Adding a humidifier has many benefits, some of which are:
  • Helping to prevent certain illnesses
  • Helping to relieve illnesses such as the symptoms of colds or flu
  • Keeping your skin healthy and preventing it from getting too dry and chapped
  • Creating warmth
  • Reducing snoring
  • Protecting furnishings
  • Reducing static electricity in the air
In terms of the best sorts of humidifiers, I'd personally always opt for a brand that I trust and that offers great customer support, like Dyson who's scientifically proven Humidifier has been highly rated and reviewed across the Internet.
There are many reasons to look into why your home should own either a humidifier or a de-humidifier. De humidifiers do the opposite to humidifiers and are fantastic in helping to reduce high humidity by sucking moisture out of the air, which helps to reduce mold and mildew which can often be present in rooms that don't get a lot of natural sunlight and are therefore often dark, cold and damp. If you're not sure which you might need, you can get humidity meters which show you the humidity in your home for just a few pounds from websites like Amazon. We own this one
