I Am a Newbie

Posted on the 07 June 2012 by Rajrupa @irajrupa

I am a software engineer. I studied computer science engineering from an elite institute. I got a nice job even before my finals. And I got a nicer boyfriend AB. I got an awesome family and an amazing AB’s family. When I joined my job, my posting was in the same city as his. Sounds like a princess’s story, isn’t it? I thought so too. And I was overwhelmed. So much so that I gave up writing my journal which I had maintained from as long as I remembered.

A whole new life away from home. A whole new world of opportunities and a whole new set of challenges. Life became a whirlwind. When the initial shock settled, I found that I was so much wounded in the flow of routine activities that I didn’t have any time to call my own. I woke up in the morning, went to office, came back, cooked, ate, called AB up and slept. Day in and day out the same routine followed. When I could not take it anymore I changed job. Then I changed another one. But nothing else changed.

Then we got married. AB and I. And the fairy tale resumed. Despite the monotony of life a good home kept me fulfilled. From crazy photographic expeditions to midnight tea on the terrace while watching the starry sky we have done it all. Life was so full of activities that I did not have time to even think.

Then AB went abroad. And bang! The same hollow feeling returned. Alone at home, with no AB to speak to, I fell back to my old habit of writing. I wrote long emails to AB. The more I wrote, the more I felt alive. The sharp jab of missing him subsided to a dull thud. And I kept writing.

During this time, he suggested that I should start writing a blog. But I am not such a social person. I was just content that I was writing again. But the idea of putting them in a blog and putting it to display before the world is a bit scary.

But AB convinced me. So here I am. Posting my first blog in two years. A bit late I know. But when you are sure that this is what you want then it is better to be late than never.Follow me.
