I Forgot It

Workout Date: Wednesday May 25 @ 7:15am (this is a blog post from last week that we haven't posted yet).
Me+:
I forgot itI have waited too long and now I can't remember our workout from Wednesday. Now a few things should be noted here:
1. Although I can't remember my workout from 48 hours ago, I could sit you down and sing all the lyrics from all the songs on the Backstreet Boys debut album (see right for picture) and a bunch of their other songs as well. I could also run through almost every plot and story line that the Young and the Restless has done for the last 20 years.
2. It was a great, challenging workout that I am still sore from.
3. I can remember most of it, but bits and pieces are missing. I thought about putting it in my blackberry right afterwards because I was actually driving to Guelph for work right after my workout. But I was lazy and didn't and now I have nothing to write about...or do I?
I have now decided that I will let Kyle talk about this workout. I just texted him and told him I can't remember all of the exercises we did.
Anyways, I found this penny at the gym the other day (no I didn't pick it up, I left that good luck for the next person. Besides, it was right next to the toilet and well...ew).

I forgot it

Pretty Gym Penny.

For some reason, seeing this penny has inspired a week long interest in the penny.Ahh the Penny. Shiny. Copper. Coin.To me the penny symbolizes a simpler time…my youth. Think of all the glory a penny brought when you were younger. Whether you could buy a piece of candy or go to the movies (depending on your age), doesn’t it seem as though the penny used to have much more value? For me, it could buy you candy, go into your loafer before you went off to catholic school, leave them on railroad tracks and then they became cool, flat thingys, betting money when we played cards with Nana, help you pay for things in exact change, being so excited when you found a “lucky” penny of the ground or drop them in fountains to help make your dreams come true.Nowadays, sadly the penny is more of a nuisance (I just asked Eric how to spell nuisance and he responded "T-a-r-a" lol) then the helpful friend it used to be. In a faster pace credit and debit card world the penny always seem to take up room in your wallet-even if we do need change we always reach for the trendier quarter or dime if we need to use change…sadly the penny isn’t the Zack Morris of change that it used to be…I just had a terrifying thought…what if it never was?So the last penny was made in May. I read that it costs the government $11 million per year in distributing and producing the penny. It actually costs 1.6 cents to make a penny. What? THEN I read ever further that the penny isn’t even made of copper…it’s made of steel with a copper coating-how fancy. Seem like a no-brainer, the penny (or this steel copper coated coin formerly known as the penny) might have seen its’ hay day.
But wait! What about loafers of children of the future? Will the make children wear nickel loafers? Or worse lace up shoes? How will anyone’s dreams come true if we can’t wish on a penny before tossing it into a fountain? How will we have good luck if we can’t find that lucky penny on the side walk? Will grandparents and children need to set up pay pal accounts to play crazy 8’s? Follow up question. Do kids still play crazy 8’s? I am not sure about you. But I have already started to stock pile my pennies. Oooh maybe I will try and keep one from every year. Did you know the penny has been around in Canada since 1858 (how many of you have been around for that long?). Boom. If you decide you want to save some pennies, but don’t just want them freeloading and hanging out at your house because they don’t have a real job anymore, think about using them for one or more of the following:1. Use for leverage to pry off the lid from a difficult “line-up-the-arrows” childproof medication bottle.
2. Slip one under a vase that sits a little wobbly to steady it.
3. Tape one to the tail of your kite for a little more stabilizing weight
4. Scratch off lottery tickets
5. Go on to Pinterest and type in 'lucky penny' and hundreds of ideas will keep you busy until all of your extra pennies are gone.
For all of these reasons and more, I am not sure a world without pennies makes cents. I mean sense. No, I mean cents. I was trying to be funny. Watch out Nickel. You've been warned. What was I talking about?
Also, my forgetting something that happened so recently has prompted me to do a little research into ways to improve your memory. Stay tuned.
P.S. If you need more info regarding the penny going bye-bye check out (i.e. What do you if you buy something and it comes to $27.03): http://huff.to/K5Yy7b

My Trainer:
Tara’s workout this morning was a lot of fun!
She did minimal single arm and leg exercises, so she was able to fit a massive volume of lifts in today … and it showed.
She started with big, multi-joint movements, and ended with small remedial exercises for her lower traps and external rotators.  She is still doing her RAMP training, and the rest intervals stuck at a consistent 45-60 seconds throughout.  Morning workouts are great because they give you such a kick to the day.
I forgot itWe started the morning with the usual “how was breakfast ?”, to which she (of course) replied “chicken and walnuts in the car”.  I lent Tara a great book called The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth (by Dr. Jonny Bowden) last weekend and I’m excited to get her take on things.  It’s such a great book for anyone who says “I want to eat healthy, but don’t know what to eat”.  Tara is, what I would call, smarter than the average bear with nutrition, but this book is an incredible reference for anyone!  With a fresh new outlook on “what to eat”, I’m looking forward to seeing Tara for her work out tomorrow morning.
Happy Reading,
Me + My Trainer
