Hello blogging world!!! I’ve missed you all, and it is so good to be back in civilization!!! Being away at summer camp with 25 kids was an incredible experience, and I have to say that all of these years later, I still love camp as much as I used to.
Camp is zany and crazy and dirty and loud and full of spirit. I am recovering at a friend’s house with no voice, but after a two hour nap and an awesome hot shower, I have make up on and flat ironed hair and am beginning to feel like myself again.
I say that I am returning to my old self, but the fact is, I really got to share my true self with these kids. They saw me in a camp environment, which is like my home away from home. How amazing that we had this incredible time together, and I miss them all already.
Camp is completely different today in my 40′s than it was in my 20′s. My body is wreaking havoc from it, but I am filled with the energy that can only come from a week at camp!
One funny moment at camp this week was when I was chatting with the resident “S’more-ologist.” When he discovered that I have a song of the day blog, he humorously suggested that I blog about a song called, “I Hate Kids” by The Adolescents. A devilish grin spread across his face with the suggestion, so here I am….spreading his evil camp humor. Ba-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!! Click HERE to hear the song that will hopefully help you all feel the silliness of camp. I can’t wait for next year, because I can honestly say I would do this again in a heartbeat!
