I Loves Me Some Holidays

I didn't grow up doing any of the traditional holiday stuff people do this time of year, but I have absolutely without a doubt always loved the Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's holidays. This year, The Matrix (my casa) was host to another traditional Thanksgiving dinner just like the pilgrims did way back in the day: football, wings galore, deviled eggs, stuffed mushrooms, chips, dips, some kind of bread/goat cheese snack dealio (it was good) and tons of beer.

Ok so it wasn't traditional, but between me, Hector and the handful of new friends here at the house everyone had a blast and nobody cared. Good times had by all. The very next day at work I made up for that lack of tradition. So. Much. Food. Turkey, stuffing, a mac and cheese casserole, and Zeller's sweet potatoes with nuts and marshmellows on top that were out of this world. Have I mentioned my love for this time of year yet?

All the days before. after and inbetween are starting to blend together, but in a good way. I must be having lots of fun cuz my wallet keeps getting lighter. Somehow on the night I went out with AJ and Jessica I managed to take no pictures of that nignt's adventures. B&J;'s, Politics, Izzy's and somehow we ended up at Club XS till 3 am. It's all good. i missed those girls. And pretty much every night since its been more of the same.

That's what this time of year is all about for me: great friends & good times. Throw in a few pretty girls here and there along with delicious food and good music and I'm a happy camper. Take last night for example. Spent 6 or 7 hours kickin back with Hector and Paul talking about growing up and the good old days when you actually had to call girls on the phone and go through their dad before you could talk to them. The days before status updates and Instagram and cell phones. God the years have flown by. Me and Hector started jamming out on the acoustic guitars, then a couple cases of beer later I'm doing behind the back paper towel shots into a trash can and just after that around 1 am him and Paul are cooking the most delicious tacos I've ever had. Got home safe and sound around 3. Great friends & good times. Thats what this time of year is about. And on that note, I'm headed to a barbecue at Brucey Bruce's. Life is good.

...and yes I did finally make that last shot. You're welcome.
