Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. — Philippians 4:6
Tuesday was an unexpected visit to the vet…
My dad expressed worry about what appeared to be a scratch on Dave’s cornea. My bad… I have mistaken it for eye mucus… Thought it got washed off after I bathed him Monday. But I looked closely and discovered it was still there.
I then started to feel guilty for not noticing… And then paranoia flooded my thoughts… Of my little Dave possibly going blind… Or undergoing eye surgery.
My heart raced. He HAS to see the vet immediately… I thought as I kept my panic to myself.
As I changed my clothes… I was praying and hoping that my paranoid thoughts aren’t true… Doing my best to remember those Matthew verses about worry… That God will take care of everything.
And finally… Finally we get to the vet. And thank God… The vet washed away all my doubts and fears… As she told me that the scratch was just superficial… Assured me that it’s normal for dogs to get scratches on their cornea… And that there’s no surgery needed—just eyedrops.
I breathed a collective sigh of relief… Because my baby Dave is alright. :-)
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 4:7
