I'm a Maxxinista Convert.

A few days ago I was wandering the aisles of TJ Maxx with Jared. Jared had found his way over to the man-section and I was doing what I do best... wandering aimlessly. I never really pay attention to the area of TJ Maxx at the front, right before you check out. I call this the "gotcha!" area. Right before you checkout you spot something shiny and before you know it BAM your hands are filled and now you have coffee beans, exercise weights, pens, notebook, gift bags and anything else they can shove up front. They gotcha.
Normally I'm smarter than TJ and I put blinders on and walk by the gotcha area with my head held high, not making any contact with shiny object. At least I thought this was the smart thing to do. Just keep walking, just keep walking...
With this last trip I failed to blind myself. The iPad cases caught my eye, since Jared added an iPad mini to our family last week. I started to look for a case for him and that turned into looking for a case for me, which turned into looking at everything and I mean EVERYTHING! As I mentioned this aisle is right in front of the check out so as people were standing in line waiting to purchase and I was digging through the shelves and excusing myself as I pushed through them to get to the next shiny object. Collecting handfuls of good finds as I went along. It felt like I was finding gold at the thrift shop. I'd grab a good find and then scowl at anyone who may be eyeing the same object and hurry an tuck it into my the pit of my arm.
At the end of my scavenge I ended up buying some delicious smart food popcorn, a journal, a few gel pens, and some make-up! At the time, it just seemed like a good idea to grab mascara and lip gloss. It fit in perfectly with the rest of my random purchases. When we got in the car and I went back through my goody bag, I started to regret the make-up. I was thinking hte lip gloss would be sticky and clumpy, while the mascara would coat well. In my head I was like, damn.. TJ Maxx just got me. Then a miracle happened. I fell in love with my TJ Maxx lip gloss and mascara!
That's right, I actually was able to find cheap mascara and lip gloss that I love. They are the same brand, beauty concepts. I've never heard of it before. The mascara was $2.99 and a 6-pack of full size lip glosses were also $2.99. I've only been using them both for 3 days now, but I seriously am a newly baptized TJ Maxx make-up convert. P.S. I wasn't compensated in any way to write this post. I just love it that much.
