Summoning the fire falcon is the most important part of the morning at the fire station. Ok so that thing on my forearm isn't really for falcons. It's a leather hose jacket; a really, really, really old school piece of equipment that used to be used on fire scenes if there was a leaky hose. I was on Engine 13 yesterday and when the other tailboard showed me that we actually had one on the unit, we immediately started taking pictures of me summoning falcons and sending those pics off to all the world. Good times. I wanted to wear it on an ems call, but i wasn't sure if the captain would get my humor. I'm a total bad ass wearing that thing.
There were 3 fires yesterday all over the city. We had ours in the morning just before lunch. A garage fire that from the thick black plume of smoke showing in the sky as we were approaching looked like it was gonna be a huge house fire. Luckily its bark was worse than it's bite and we were in and out like champs. My home station 7 had a house fire later in the afternoon, and my old station 9 had a trailer fire early this morning around 5am (pictured below). My brothers were busy.

It's the weekend again which means NFL playoffs. I'm thinking i'm gonna chill and watch some good football. No Austin plans for me. Several friends are off in the ATX partying up and down 6th street. Told my brewchachos and brewchachas to have a few cold ones for me. Gonna stay in, kick back, get the fire pit going later, and try to enjoy some good weather.
