Funnily enough, it wasn't until I read this article from Slumberdown about the top 20 scary film and TV shows that keep us awake at night that I realised that actually I'm so not alone with this and that it's perfectly normal to feel like a big baby about horror! The article says that 'Almost half of the 2,000 adults we surveyed admitted they had changed the channel after watching a chilling film or TV show and over a quarter ended up sleeping with the light. Forty per cent even resorted to watching a kids’ TV show or something light-hearted to calm them down before finally switching off for the night.' - This is just so me, it's unreal and quite honestly, I feel so much better now knowing I'm not the only one! ;)
The article goes on to suggest that, 'If you are prone to nightmares after watching a scary show before bed, we’d suggest recording it to watch during the daytime, to avoid the creepy fear of the midnight run to the toilet.' and whilst I think this idea is actually probably the best if you are the type of person that still loves to watch a good horror, even if they do freak you out, I'm still not sure that I could personally manage to watch one myself! ;) What about you? Do horror films/TV shows freak you out?
