I Must Confess… I Can’t Wait to Be a Kid Again

Now I know I can’t possibly turn back time and actually be a kid again but I can certainly act and behave like a kid again and now that I have kids of my own I have the perfect excuse.

Right now I can really only get away with acting silly, dancing like a mad woman, singing nursery rhymes and playing with some toys. But as my twins are getting older the list of fun things that I get to do with them is growing every day.

In the last month we have begun colouring and drawing with crayons (or attempting to before they started eating them), blowing bubbles, playing in the sand with buckets and spades, going down slippery dips and flying high on the swings.

I am enjoying reading some of my favorite nursery rhymes and children’s books again, as well as singing and dancing to children’s music. I must confess that I don’t mind watching Thomas The Tank Engine, Charlie Bear or Play School (although I just can’t get into In The Night Garden).

This week I am taking the twins to the Entertainment Centre to see a Play School Concert and I can’t wait.

In the next month or so I want to do things with them like playing with play dough and finger painting. I have seen some great arts and crafts activities on pinterest.

As they get older there is so much I can’t wait to experience with them. I imagine us doing things like jumping in puddles in our gum boots, snuggling up to watch our favorite movies, drawing, painting and colouring in. Baking cookies and cakes, learning to ride bikes, playing dress ups, shops and schools, going for bush walks and exploring the outdoors.

Childhood was so much fun the first time and I must confess that I think I am going to have almost as much fun the second time around.
