It’s talent show week at camp. I love this week! There is something so special about hearing the kids practicing over and over again for their big moments that really touches me. Everywhere I go all week long, I know I’ll hear singing around the JCC hallways with our sweet campers getting ready. The talent show is a big deal to all of them, and we take it very seriously, too.
Then…on talent show night…well, that’s a whole other ball game. The nerves kick in, and I watch the kids buzzing with a mixture of excitement and lack of confidence. I do everything I can to boost their little egos, and then, I am super thrilled for them…liked a proud Mama….when they finish their acts with pride and accomplishment in their eyes.
Yep…this is going to be a good week, and I’ll do whatever I can to help them.
My song of the day is “I’ve Got Rhythm” performed by Gene Kelly from the classic movie, “An American in Paris.” I love how he works with the children in this scene, and I guess it’s something I can relate to especially during this talent show week. So click HERE to go to Youtube and watch this classic scene, and if you’re a camp parent reading this blog, I hope to see you Thursday evening at one awesome and very sweet camp talent show.
