I Wanna Know...{Week 13}

Posted on the 12 March 2013 by Wifessionals @wifessionals
I wrote a post a few months back.

I basically opened the floor and gave you guys a chance to ask me ANYTHING.
When I say anything, I mean anything! Blogging, marriage, army, crafting, shopping...

I'd love for you to submit a question for me to answer & for you to be featured next week!!!

Wowza! Week #13! I always try to include both blogging & personal questions.

Stevie

Question #1: Your blog has grown so fast! What made you choose to start on Blogger instead of Wordpress? I've been hearing that a lot of bloggers are planning to move to Wordpress, have you thought about doing that at all?

Hey Stevie! I actually chose Blogger because it's what came up on Google when I typed "start blog". Since being in the blog world and seeing both platforms, I have to say I favor Blogger and I don't think I'll ever move to Wordpress. There a lot of frustrating articles I've read about things that Wordpress doesn't offer, but Blogger does. Everything from plug ins to widgets, etc. I also know some girls who were on Wordpress and switched to Blogger because of the "lack of community". It seems that Blogger promotes connecting with other bloggers a lot easier than Wordpress does. I can't speak on any of these things from personal experience, but I love Blogger and the way it is completely integrated with all things Google (:

Veronica

Question #2: You've stated before that you've asked companies/shops/etc to do product reviews and giveaways, more than they've approached and asked you. How do you go about asking companies?

Hi Veronica! Yes, what you stated was correct. I would say at this point the ratio is 90% of products I go after myself and 10% are offered to me by companies. What I do is research either companies I already know and love, or products I think my readers would enjoy discovering. Then I find the contact information and send them an email. The email is usually only 3-4 sentences and I attach my Media Kit. Then they have my reasoning for why I would love to review their product and also have all my site statistics to look at. Sometimes you'll never get a response, but you'd be surprised at how many companies love working with bloggers!

Sharlee

Question #3: You are in really good shape. How do you stay fit? Do you have a regimen?

Hello Sharlee! So I definitely have NOT always had the best fitness level. I am telling you that THE best workout you can do, the one that will give you the most bang for your buck, is Jillian Michaels. I own about 8 of her DVDs. The great thing about her workouts is that they are only 20-30 minutes and they combine both cardio and weight training. When I was working full time I would never feel like I wanted to "waste" hours at the gym, but I had no excuse to not invest 20 minutes of my day working out. In 6 weeks of eating healthy and doing Jillian Michaels, I lost 10 pounds...and looked so incredibly toned. I also eat pretty well on a daily basis. We don't eat out that much and I cook almost everything from scratch. But like I said, Jillian Michaels is awesome. I never follow her workout schedules. She usually wants you to do the same workout for a week and move to the next level. I've found that you can do ANY level on her DVDs, you just follow the instructor that is doing the modified version if you can't do the full one. This lets me jump around the DVDs and have a new workout every day if I want. If you get bored working out, you'll quit. That's how I battle this.

Ashley

Question #4: Do you have quirks that drive Ryan crazy?

I'm sitting next to Ryan, who I asked this question to...he says "I don't want to get in a fight tonight"...Ha. But no, he couldn't think of anything off the top of his head. So I will tell you what I do that he makes fun of me for. I say a couple of phrases that he thinks are weird or overused. He says he's going to make an action figure of me and have it say "Are you joking me?"..."ohhhhhh-K"...."Holy smoke-a-leen-ies". Besides my weird phrases, Ryan doesn't like that I use 5,000 dishes when I'm cooking. He stands at the sink singing "The neverending dishesssss" to the tune of The Neverending Story. And one last thing I know Ryan hates...I always climb in bed at night and take off my socks. Otherwise I wake up in the middle of the night sweating. I then go and put my freezing cold feet in between his legs and thighs so I can warm up. He always yells at me and tells me to stop...but I always come back and say "You would miss this if I didn't do it anymore!". I think he secretly loves that I'm cuddling him. If not, I'm glad he still warms my ice cold feet (:

I hope you guys enjoyed seeing some of your questions answered! I'll be back next Tuesday with more!
