Ideal Ways to Greet New Housemates/ Neighbors.

Posted on the 14 October 2013 by Gracem16 @TSITR_Gracie
Hey guys,
I'm not saying buy the Eiffel tower but here are great ways to build/ start a friendship with new housemates at University!
Offer a brew.

Such a simple way- just be polite about it, offer biscuits then you can chat and get to know each other.
Be polite & respectful
Don't treat them as your best mate (just yet!) be nice and don't give a bad impression without knowing that person- even if their rude to you. And don't blast out heavy metal and screamo late at night like I used to do a 6pm. Some people are VERY sensitive to these things.
Door open

If you have a flat or house share with others leave the door open for a couple of days, they'll notice you're there soon enough and should strike up a conversation, if not you could always initiate it.
Bake a cake.
If you know them first, ask first if they have any allergies and find an alternative. But bake a cake! If you're not a master baker buy a cake. If you don't know them wait till they go out and then bake one or buy one!
Remember

You have to live with these people for up to a year, so be nice and try and get on even if they were hell- like my flatmates! And remember have fun! Play games if it helps break the ice, especially drinking ones!
Enjoy!
Love,
TSITR xo
